sometimes magic happens
2003-01-31, 3:13 a.m.

before you know it, it' s 6 hours and 15 minutes later.

London time: 7: 55 a

Wolf was staring at the ceiling. his reveries were rudely interrupted by avril lavigne, singing loudly over the airwaves.

" he was a skater boi, she said see ya later boi! "

His hand fumbled, hitting the radio repeatedly until the noise subsided blissfully into the background, fading into something that sent chills down his spine, and caused his body to fall limp.

His eyelids were lowering, nearly closed when she walked in.

he looked at her, through his haze. the sheet they had used as a makeshift curtain for the window, billowed out, sending shadows of light against the walls.

he couldn' t tell if it was day or night.

" get up, wolf. "

" why, what for? "

" you' re doing yourself no good lying there like that. "

" and you' re doing me no good standing there, "

she rolled her eyes, exasperated.

" come on, love, it' s a beautiful day, why spend it doing work we hate? "

" speak for yourself, " she shot back at him, turning on her heel.

she couldn' t realize it, but the curve of her back, the way her ankles connected her feet to her legs, and how her body moved itself, a symphony of parts, delighted him like no other.

" oh meg.. " he trailed off, and she turned, thinking he had meant to apologize.

" yes? "

" you look so... " he frowned, as if trying to conceal the thought.

" i look so what, exactly? "

a flood of nasty things surged through his mind -- he could hurt her now, if he so chose, and he knew it.

" you look like spring... a full moon casting it' s light over a night that can' t decide if it' s warm or cool ... lighting the soft breeze that causes the leaves to move, quietly, as if reassuring the world that the breath of life has returned. "

she stared at him, and her silence compelled him to continue.

" what i mean to say, meg, is that looking at you just now gave me hope... for... i dunno, look, i' m just a fool lying in his bed, rambling at a beautiful girl. "

they spent the rest of the day, lying there amongst the pillows, watching the world below... the ceiling, each other. later, they went down, and walked along the banks of the stream that ran near the house.

he touched her cheek, and quickly looked away, embarrassed.

she looked at him, trying to catch him in his act.

" you inspire me, wolf. "

he scowled.

why his parents had to name him wolfgang was beyond him. it seemed utterly stupid. - giggled
